First Reconciliation and First Eucharist

The sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist are received for the first time typically in second grade. Preparation for the sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist will occur during  Faith Formation on Wednesday nights.

First Reconciliation

Preparation for Reconciliation will begin in September with the students receiving their first Reconciliation in December. (10 classes)

We use as our curriculum, Go Seek and Find from Saint Mary's Press from Winona, MN

Please help your child learn the Act of Contrition. At the time of their First Reconciliation a written copy will be available for them to read.

Act of Contrition

My God,
I am sorry for my sins with all my heart.
In choosing to do wrong and failing to do good,
I have sinned against you
whom I should love above all things.
I firmly intend, with your help,
to do penance, to sin no more,
and avoid whatever leads me to sin.
Our Savior Jesus Christ
suffered and died for us.
In his name, my God, have mercy.

First Eucharist

Preparation classes for First Eucharist will begin in January. (10 classes)

We use as our curriculum, Go Seek and Find  from Saint Mary's Press of Winona, MN.  We encourage you to attend weekly Mass to help your child learn how to participate in and become familiar with the Sunday Mass. Joining us in the Children's Liturgy is always WELCOME too!

Retreat

We also have a parent/child retreat and rehearsal sometime at the end of April. The retreat is held sometime just before First Communion. The parent/child will journey through individual and large group activities. We will also have a rehearsal to prepare for the big day including TASTING unconsecrated hosts and wine.

First Eucharist Mass

The First Eucharist Mass will be celebrated in early May.  (Please refer to calendar for date and time).
